Lauren R. Safran, LCSW

I am licensed clinical social worker in New York and Connecticut with more than 15 years of experience working with women, teens and young adults.

I received my degree from Columbia University. I utilize a therapeutic approach that incorporates CBT, REBT, mindfulness and positive psychology.  I specialize in the treatment of perinatal mood disorders; postpartum and pregnancy depression/anxiety, infertility related mood disorders, and infant loss. I also specialize in treating anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder in women, young adults and teens.

Along with multiple trainings, I’ve completed the primary and secondary practicum in Rational Emotive Therapy at the Albert Ellis Institute, and received a certificate of training in CBT from the Beck institute, trained at the postpartum Stress Center in Pennsylvania and with Postpartum Support International in reproductive psychiatry and Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

I was a New York State coordinator at PSI and served on the board in 2017. I’m a member of NASW.
